Accredited Online Colleges
Online colleges allow you to perform your studies wherever and whenever you are able, and usually cost less than a campus program, so you may ask: How good can an online college be? What kind of education can I possibly get while sitting on the couch wearing sweatpants? Are online colleges just a waste of time and money? The answer to all theses question is to find an accredited program. Accredited online colleges are not difficult to find on the Edvisors search engine, because colleges now offer hundreds of accredited online courses and degree programs.
Studies have proven that the education received from online colleges are nearly equivalent to a traditional colleges. In these studies, assignments and papers from college graduates have been reviewed, and there was no significant difference between those written by students who attended a traditional college and those who attended online colleges.
The process to become an accredited online college is the same process as a campus: online colleges are reviewed by outside sources over a timeframe of up to a few years. During this time, the reviewing board compares the practices of the college to a set of standards, and after several years, it is determined whether the school is meeting the standards provided. This is a lengthy and often expensive process for a college to go through, so it is a good sounding board to determine whether the colleges you are looking at are actually worth your time and money! Colleges offering degrees in a matter of weeks are most likely not legitimate, and have most likely not gone through the difficult process of accreditation. To put it simply, most quality colleges will be accredited.
