MySQL DBA/ETL Specialist
Edvisors is currently seeking a MySQL DBA/ETL Specialist with 3-6 years of professional experience to join our development team in Quincy, Massachusetts. This role is responsible for Database Administration, ETL/Data Warehousing, and Internal and External Reporting modules.
Your skills will be leveraged to help improve the performance of our existing MySQL server deployments through optimizing: server configuration, overall data structure, and the SQL code base. You'll be a key contributor and have a voice in determining the future platform for all our data needs.
Responsibilities
- Continual refinement of DB design, storage capacity and performance.
- Ensure data consistency across all primary and replicated databases.
- Develop custom ETL processes.
- Maintain and refine existing ETL data reporting and transformation PHP scripts.
- Provide ad-hoc data reporting to internal and external clients.
- Commissioning and installing new applications.
- Writing complete database standards, procedures, and definition documentation.
Minimum Requirements

Always a Plus
- Experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL (db engine internals, query optimizer, performance tuning, indexes, slow query logs, replication, scalability, backup).
- MySQL Cacti libraries as defined and maintained by Percona.
- ETL design and implementation.
- Data Warehouse concepts/Dimensional Modeling , especially via Kimball's DW framework.
- Detailed knowledge of advanced data Profiling/Cleansing Techniques.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
