Front End Web/UI Developer
Edvisors is currently seeking a Front-End Web Developer with 3-6 years of professional experience to join our development team in Quincy, Massachusetts. Grow your skillset while helping us evolve our network of 30+ web properties, which receives over 1 million visits per month. You'll be a key contributor and have a voice in determining the future direction of our front-end development team.
Responsibilities
- Transform high-level business requirements into high quality and functional websites. Educate top management on pros and cons of various design and implementation options
- Be a key contributor to a small web team in the redesign and revitalization of our network of 30+ existing sites and the creation of new sites, while focusing on best practices in coding, design, usability, Search Engine Optimization, and User Experience.
- Gain experience through your involvement in the full development life cycle, from requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Communicate directly with team members, business leaders, domain experts, and senior management to help drive successful design, implementation, and launch.
Minimum Requirements
- 3-6 years experience in technical implementation of customer-facing web sites.
- Genuine passion for user interface design and coding.
- In-depth knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery.
- Experience coding in PHP or other scripting languages such as Perl or Python.
- Experience with MVC frameworks such as Kohana and Symfony.
- Experience with cross-platform/cross-browser development and testing.
- Experience with SVN, GIT, or other source control systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, written and oral communications skills.
Always a Plus
- Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and visual design skills.
- Familiarity with UX design principles and practices.
- Experience with Search Engine Optimization techniques.
- Experience with Google Analytics.
- Familiarity with Mac OS X and Linux.
- Knowledge of phpBB and WordPress.
- Bachelors' degree in a technical or design discipline or equivalent.
