Edvisors is looking for a full-time, in-house employee to create search engine optimized web content. Candidate must comfortable writing with a variety of different tones to match different target audiences. Familiarity with SEO best practices is a necessity.
The Copywriter is responsible for copywriting, copyediting, proofreading, and managing copy process and communications for marketing activities including web copy, email, print, incentivized activity, direct marketing, and more. Individual will write for a wide range of needs and adopt a variety of writing styles to suit project requirements and to support business strategy.
Responsibilities
- Create original benefit-driven and persuasive copy that promotes unique benefits/attributes and brand identity
- Quickly write concise, scannable web body in inverted pyramid style
- Work to maintain production schedules and meet project timelines
- Work in cross-functional groups with members of marketing and product teams, especially SEO
- Proofread a wide range of scheduled and unscheduled marketing materials on a daily basis for clarity, style consistency, spelling and grammar
- Offer solutions and make recommendations for content development
- Translate complex material into clear, concise, and reader-friendly copy while balancing audience needs and business objectives
- Leverage market and customer information to continuously improve copy value
- Understand basic SEO principles, have some experience with creating search engine optimized content
- Gather/research relevant information to support copy writing
- Ability to work both long- and short-form copy as well as across media: web, social, print brochure, emails
- Ability to adjust writing style to fit a variety of customer segments and tones of voice
Qualifications
- BA degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, or Communications
- At least 3 years experience as a copywriter - previous experience working in web marketing a plus
- Strong project management and organization skills with ability to multi-task and follow-up
- Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented and able to adhere to tight deadlines
- Ability to work quickly and precisely in a fast-paced working environment under tight deadlines
- Ability to respond to shifting priorities quickly and effectively when necessary
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work well both independently and in a team setting
- Familiarity with search engine optimization writing techniques
- Experience with general online marketing principles
