Associate of Applied Science, Medical Assisting - Beckfield College

The Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting is designed to prepare students for careers in physicians practices and ambulatory settings. Graduates fulfill integral, multifunctional administrative and clinical roles.
Clinical Skills Instruction:
- Obtaining patient history
- Vital signs
- Assisting with patient examinations and procedures
- Performing ECGs and other diagnostic testing
- Laboratory testing
- Preparing and administering medications
Administrative Skills Instruction:
- Preparing and maintaining medical records
- Scheduling and monitoring appointments
- Scheduling hospital admissions and procedures
- Submitting claims and monitoring reimbursements
- Insurance precertification
Graduates are eligible to sit for Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) examination.
