Property Management (Bachelor's) - Colorado Technical University

Colorado Tech Online is pleased to announce the addition of an industry-current BSBA degree program with a concentration in Property Management. Applications are being accepted now for classes scheduled to begin on May 9, 2009.

When owners of apartments, office buildings, or retail or industrial properties lack the time or expertise needed for the day-to-day management of their real estate investments or homeowner associations, they often hire a property or real estate manager or a community association manager.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of property, real estate, and community association managers is projected to increase by 15 percent during the 2006?16 decade, faster than the average for all occupations.* 

In response to this growing need for knowledgeable, skilled professionals with a college degree in business administration and an interest in pursuing a future in property management, this program focuses on teaching students how to:

? Maintain satisfactory tenant relations and other managerial techniques for the real estate professional.
? Review and address the fundamentals of commercial real estate investment.
? Develop a comprehensive operational, marketing and cash flow plan.
? Address the fundamentals of commercial real estate investment, understanding market influences, contracts and property portfolio management.
? Justify and fund capital projects.
? and many more career-related skills.

This BSBA degree program features courses including: Property Manager Responsibilities, Facility and Property Management Technologies, Capital Planning and Asset management and many other career-related topics. Coursework is structured to emphasize communication skills, develop facility leadership and understand finance in the facility and property management environment.
