Environmental and Social Sustainability (MBA) - Colorado Technical University

Colorado Tech Online is pleased to announce the introduction and availability of an industry-current MBA with a concentration in Environmental and Social Sustainability. Applications are being accepted now for classes scheduled to begin on May 9, 2009.

With an increasing emphasis on innovation and environmental and social responsibility, business executives of forward-thinking organizations are becoming increasingly motivated by the effective implementation of sustainable business practices.

In addition to the foundations of sustainable business, this program provides students with the knowledge they will need to apply the principles of the Triple Bottom Line (People, Planet, Profit) to modern industry. Course content is geared towards teaching students how to:

? Demonstrate an understanding of the nature of sustainable business and how it can be operationalized in an organization.
? Evaluate organizational effectiveness using a triple bottom line approach.
? Use entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial skills to work within an organization to bring about innovation and growth.
? Ethically employ leadership skills, including effective judgment and decision-making.
? and many more career-related skills.
 
This MBA program features courses including: Foundations of Sustainable Business,
Implementing the Triple Bottom Line, and Sustainable Operations. Coursework is structured to provide students an understanding of the functional areas of business: accounting, finance, economics, marketing, and strategic management.

Courses will be taught by instructors who are passionate about helping to build a better world. Students can benefit from their insightful perspectives and professional insights as they acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a diverse range of executive positions at organizations that emphasize environmental and social sustainability.
