Founded in 1863 Heald College has offered hands-on, career-relevant academic programs for over 145 years. Heald offers real-world education to last a lifetime with 18-month associate degree programs in the in-demand industries of Healthcare, Business and Technology.

Heald College offers select courses via distance learning in an online format. These courses have the same course descriptions, student learning outcomes, general topics, prerequisites, and units as the corresponding on-campus version of the courses.

Heald is regionally accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the US Department of Education. Because Heald is regionally accredited, it has articulation agreements with other regionally accredited institutions that accept Heald credits toward bachelors degree programs. The Heald College Health Information Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIIM).
