Can You Consolidate Student Loans From Different Lenders

Yes, you can consolidate (i.e., refinance) student loans from different lenders. When you apply to refinance your loans with a private student loan refinance lender, you can include all existing loans you may have, regardless of the lender (including loans from the federal government if you want) and have them bundled into one new loan with a new single lender.

While you certainly can refinance federal loans with a private lender, before doing so, it’s important you take into consideration the federal benefits you stand to lose by moving your loans out of the federal loan program.
