There’s a lot of help out there for students looking to get a college degree and your employer might be one of the many companies helping employees pursue their educational goals. From tuition assistance and reimbursement to scholarships and educational programs, these companies have prioritized personal growth through learning.
This is not an exhaustive list and if an employer isn’t listed below be sure to check with them to see what programs, if any, they may offer.
Amazon
Amazon Career Choice offers prepaid education, including tuition, books and fees to hourly employees after 90-days of employment. Educational programs from over 400 eligible partners help both full-time and part-time employees earn everything from a GED to a Bachelor’s degree.
Apple
Apple will reimburse certain educational expenses, including tuition for employees pursuing a formal education. They also have a proprietary educational program called Apple University where employees can upskill in everything from business/software skills to personal finance.
AT&T
AT&T wants to help its employees grow their careers. They offer between 50-100% tuition assistance (depending on the employees’ department). For those seeking specific certifications they offer tuition reimbursement.
Bank of America
Bank of America offers educational support to not only it’s employees but their children as well. They offer tuition assistance and academic support through an employee portal.
Capital One
Capital One offers generous tuition assistance up to $5,250 up front for employees. Employees can use that money to pay for tuition, books or fees and can do so without having to wait to be reimbursed.
CarMax
CarMax will reimburse eligible full-time and part-time employees for tuition, textbooks and fees through their tuition assistance program.
Chick-Fil-A
Chick-Fil-A believes in investing in employees and does so with their Remarkable Futures Scholarship. This program awards employees anywhere from $1,000 up to $25,000 in scholarship money up front to used an any accredited educational institution.
CVS
CVS offers tuition assistance up to $3,000 for job-related programs. Full-time employees are eligible for this benefit on the first day of the month following the start of their employment and part-time employees after 90-days of employment.
FedEx
FedEx offers up to $5,250 per year in tuition reimbursement annually with no lifetime maximums for employees to pursue their educational goals.
Fidelity
Fidelity offers both tuition reimbursement and student loan debt assistance to eligible employees. Benefits include up to 100% of tuition and mandatory school fees towards education and a maximum of up to $15,000 towards employee’s student loan balances.
Gap Inc.
Gap Inc. supports it’s employees with a variety of educational assistance programs including tuition reimbursement, student loan refinancing and tuition discounts.
GEICO
GEICO offers a program called GEICO Strive. Through the program eligible employees can access pre-paid tuition and fees via partnerships with top colleges and universities nationwide as well as tuition discounts.
Google offers up to $2,500 per year in tuition reimbursement to employees with over 90 days of employment. For employees who already obtained a degree but still have student loans, they can receive up to $2,500 annually to apply towards repayment of their student loans.
Home Depot
Home Depot offers full-time and part-time employees who enroll in college or technical school the opportunity to participate in tuition reimbursement. For employees attending partner schools a tuition discount is available.
JetBlue
JetBlue designed a program called JetBlue Scholars to aide it’s employees after one year of service, who are seeking their first bachelor’s degree. JetBlue will cover the costs for online courses taken for college credit. Discounted tuition is also offered from partner universities.
Kroger
Kroger employees can take advantage of up to $21,000 in tuition reimbursement over their course of their career to help achieve their educational goals.
Meijer
Meijer offers several educational benefits including $5,250 in tuition reimbursement annually, a free bachelor’s degree at select online universities and The Fred and Lena Meijer Scholarship, a $10,000 award towards educational expenses for team members and their children.
Starbucks
Starbucks employees have the opportunity to receive a 100% covered tuition towards their first bachelor’s degree from over 150 Arizona State University’s online programs.
Verizon Wireless
Verizon Wireless offers employees who work more than 30 hours a week up to $8,000 annually and $4,000 for employees who work between 20-29 hours a week to use toward college tuition.
Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo will reimburse up to $5,250 annually to eligible employees who successfully complete career related classes, $2,625 for part-time employees.
