How to Plan for College

Since college is intended to provide you an education in your desired field, the best plan for college would be to start researching schools that offer the major you are seeking to study. Once you’ve identified prospective schools that will help you achieve your educational goal, you should begin narrowing the field by considering costs and location.

Between public and private schools, the cost can vary widely, consider your budget and select schools that are within your price range. It’s also helpful to look at the schools location, as this will play into your cost of attendance. Schools in high-cost markets such as large cities might not be affordable when accounting for cost of living.

Plan to attend a school that offers your major, is within your budget and is located in a city that is affordable and offers plenty of prospects for employment, should you need to earn some extra money on the side, while attending school.
