Finance Analyst

Team-oriented individual interested in becoming an integral part of the Finance team at College Loan Corporation’s Las Vegas headquarters. Financial Analysts work closely with people at all levels of the organization, including senior management, and gain experience in a variety of disciplines.  As a member of a small team, opportunities for rapid expansion of responsibility exist for individuals with superior skills and performance.

Projects span a wide range and require a broad skill set.

Essential Functions:

  • Cash projections and analyses:
  • Update the monthly Portfolio Projection
  • Continual additions/improvements to the model
  • Adjust output reports (monthly forecast, quarterly variance analysis, spread analysis, etc.) for exceptions that fall outside the constraints of our current calculations and reports.
  • Support the 5-year income statement projection
  • Support cash flow analysis of a $2B loan portfolio
  • Calculate and record accruals related to servicer fees and SAP amongst other portfolio related transactions
  • Provide research support to Accounting on daily transactional items
  • Assist running lifetime cash flows using third-party software
  • Provide support on NPV calculations for company valuation
  • Prepare Trust reporting:
  • Monthly Indenture Reports
  • Monthly Waterfalls
  • Quarterly Servicing Reports
  • Quarterly Trustee Disbursement Reports
  • Manage the auction bond process and validate all applicable rates
  • Manage Bond Rate Tracking System (BRTS) to ensure activity associated with all of our securities are properly reported and calculated
  • Manage the processing and payment of the monthly servicing fee invoices
  • Process loans repurchases and loans sales
  • Support the Treasury Management function:
  • Maintain cash position reports for senior management
  • Initiate wires and cash transfers
  • Maintain wire templates
  • Perform complex Indenture research and analysis
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-3 plus years experience in finance, accounting or related field

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • BA or BS in Finance, accounting, economics or related field

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Advanced Excel skills

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to respond quickly to management’s reporting request
  • Ability to be flexible and juggle multiple projects
  • Self starter who can work independently
